Maintenance Scheduler

Contract.

We are looking to recruit a Maintenance Scheduler to join our clients team on a Contract basis. The role is site based in East Yorkshire.

Overview

To lead the Clients’ Maintenance Process schedule and deliver to Maintenance Manager on a weekly basis, driving a 6-week work execution plan and to support upcoming TARs. Provides a resource levelled Schedule to On Site Services, ensuring cross functional alignment is built into the plan (Maintenance, Production, Logistics etc).

Implementing and maintaining high standards of safety suitable for an upper tier COMAH site. Drive the maintenance process schedule to support optimised continuous production activities and prevent loss of throughput and/or efficiency that might affect commercial profit and loss. Schedule for planned interventions and TAR’s.

Responsibilities

  • Administrate and maintain the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan, schedule and record all maintenance and engineering work on the Clients’ site.
  • Liaise with the materials coordinator in optimising resource requirements for the scheduled to include but not limited to parts, materials, equipment and labour.
  • Build and owns the “six-week schedule” making the most effective and efficient use of available resources together with making dynamic decision based on operational needs.
  • Lead weekly scheduling meeting with stakeholders.
  • Develop weekly schedules and distribute to all concerned parties.
  • Liaise closely with the operations department to advise of unit/plant outage requirements and availability of equipment. Identify and communicate any concerns.
  • Schedule all On-Site and Off-Site maintenance disciplines, to ensure the optimum time to perform jobs for PM and statutory compliance and maximum efficiency are achieved consistently.
  • Ensure the correct codification is applied to work orders for unit/ plant outages together with level of criticality.
  • Liaise with Material Coordinator for material/spares and repair status till received by the maintenance department.
  • Track execution of works and reflect status in the W.O status.
  • Perform data closure quality check for WO’s and ensure hours are recorded together with as found, works carried out/ repair documentation.
  • Develops and drives Schedule Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to become best in class.
  • Review schedule compliance on a weekly basis and keep Planners, Coordinators, and Engineers advised when compliance is faltering.
  • Providing feedback to planners on quality of job plan detail and logic.
  • Analyse CMMS metrics and provide reports on resource utilization.
  • Providing input into any staffing changes that may be necessary based on historical trends and forecasts.
  • Develop outage/ shutdown schedules to optimise workflow. Feedback schedule compliance and identify slippages.
  • Other duties and assignments as directed by the Head of Maintenance and Reliability.
  • Lead the Clients’ weekly scheduling meetings and owns the contents of the schedule list and effectively communicates the schedule to all key stake holders.
  • Maintain and manage weekly and monthly metrics, logs and records to assist in KPI tracking.
  • To understand the MAPP – Major Accident Prevention Policy 
  • To comply with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and arrangement.
  • To report all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly.
  • To act in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
  • Have an awareness of the ISO management systems that the company adheres to for Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Energy and Quality Management (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 5001 & ISO 9001).
  • Follow company policies, procedures and arrangements to ensure compliance with the management systems for ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 & ISO9001.

Skills and Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Previous exposure to an upper tier COMAH site
  • Experience in Maintenance Scheduling
  • Experience working with CMMS Systems (AX Dynamics preferable)
  • Self-driven, results orientated with a positive outlook and a clear focus on safety, high quality, and commercial success. A natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance and the performance of the team. Maintains high personal and professional standards with high attention to detail and be able to focus on the task in hand.
