Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide services on a long term contract. The role will be based in Hull. This role offers hybrid working.

Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the technology deployment (including auxiliary equipment, utilities and infrastructure development) of our Clients' product involving brown and greenfield site development to ensure utilities and infrastructure are available. Applying all relevant mechanical engineering design standards, producing all relevant documentation, to enable the unit and infrastructure to be built and installed on client sites

Responsibilities

  • Technical authority and final approval of mechanical aspects of the design and construction for infrastructure and services required to supply the Clients' products.
  • Participate in feasibility studies of client sites including initial concept and system design.
  • Manage the interface between the mechanical team and other disciplines.
  • Manage the activities of Design Houses and EPCs involved in project delivery.
  • Design of Pressure Vessels, piping and components.
  • Producing design calculations, materials selections, drawings, Bill of Materials, and equipment specifications in line with the applicable codes and standards.
  • Approval of mechanical calculations and drawings.
  • Mechanical sign off any design changes and implemented changes within the field as part of a management of change process.
  • Support the development of the technical files, covering the design, supply, assembly and test requirements for a certified pieces of equipment.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with fabricators and vendors, including vendor audits.
  • Integrate with suppliers to source materials that meet design, cost and timescale requirements.
  • Support the development of company process engineering design standards and best practice.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (Or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant industry experience.
  • Working with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
  • Familiar with design and specification of equipment in accordance with typical design codes and governing legislation.
  • Understanding of working with design house/EPC
