IChemE Accredited

We are pleased to announce that in June our Graduate Technical Development Programme was successfully reaccredited as an Accredited Company Training Scheme (ACTS) by the Institution of Chemical Engineers.

The award by the IChemE is to organizations that have demonstrated that they meet the IChemE's international standards and offer the best training and opportunities.

OSL’s Technical Development Programme is open to all our engineering disciplines to support graduates to develop into a chartered or incorporated engineer.

Led by Darren Hodgson, Engineering Manager, the objective of the TDP is to steadily increase graduate engineers’ competence and experience through a wide range of professional engineering skills. Throughout this programme, a Trainee, or graduate engineer’s development will progress through several discrete responsibility levels (Graduate, Associate, Engineer and Chartered Engineer) by completing a combination of practical assignments and structured training, which takes place either internally and/or via formal external courses. Graduate engineers should find that the completion of each stage will give them suitable competence to progress and perform well at the next.

The assessors’ comments included:

• Remarkable commitment demonstrated by the MD and senior engineering management in ensuring the successful implementation of the graduate development program.

• Impressive level of coordination and collaboration among team members (e.g., line manager, lead engineer, mentor) to ensure a seamless and effective program delivery.

• Impressive competency displayed by the document controller in effectively managing and organizing the program's documentation. The team's expertise in document management greatly contributes to the program's efficiency and effectiveness.
