National Apprenticeship Week

Posted in ,

As National Apprenticeship Week draws to a close, our Electrical and C&I discipline Leads, Lawrence Davies and Paul Foy met with their Apprentices for a regular progress review.

Electrical Apprentice Sam Green and C&I Apprentice Max Budd are currently completing year one of their Engineering Design and Draughtsperson Apprenticeship Programme with HETA. Both are making excellent progress which is evidenced in their journals that will build towards their End Point Assessment.

Whilst catching up with Sam and Max, we had another opportunity to see HETA’s specialised training centre in Hull during a busy day of learning which gave us a great insight into what life is like for our Apprentices. HETA Apprenticeships cover a wide range of Engineering specialisms which offer the perfect grounding in a career. We saw trainees balancing their classroom study with hands on training, giving them a real chance to put their skills into practice and gain confidence.

Team OSL are looking forward to welcoming Sam and Max back into our office next week for a two week placement where they will work with their discipline teams to strengthen their development. They will each carry out a range of training exercises and experience working on live engineering projects to broaden their practical experience in readiness for joining us full-time in August.
