Project Engineer

We are looking to recruit a Package Manager to join our clients team on a 6 month contract. Based in West Yorkshire.

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Project Engineer to join our clients' team for various capital projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the planning, design, and execution of project tasks, ensuring that all technical aspects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to the project team, including reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Project Planning: Assist in the development of detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Site Management: Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
  • Resource Allocation: Assist in managing resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to optimize project efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality, adhering to relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, technical reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any technical issues that arise during the construction process.

Skills and Experience

  • Formal qualification in engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering within the civil, engineering, or construction sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of project methodologies, processes, and standards.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering and project management software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
